1 Facebook Updates WhatsApp Business API
As part of its continued efforts to develop monetization tools for WhatsApp, Facebook has today announced some new updates for its WhatsApp Business API that will help facilitate a broader set of brand use cases.
Facebook has offered similar tools on Messenger for some time, and now, brands on WhatsApp will also be able to use these messaging prompts to streamline connection.
2 YouTube Underlines its Value for Musicians as TikTok Continues to Rise
With TikTok solidifying its ties with the music industry, and becoming an increasingly influential platform for music trends, YouTube has sought to re-assert its importance on the same, with a new set of insights on the role that it plays in boosting musicians and amplifying their content.
YouTube will remain focused on keeping it down, where possible, as it seeks to fend off potential competition.
It’s certainly a powerful reminder for artists – and for marketers, it also underlines the significance of YouTube in this respect, for related campaigns and outreach.
3 TikTok Announces New Initiatives for Pride Month
June is Pride Month, and TikTok has announced a range of new initiatives and tools to help users take part in celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, and promoting creators within the app.
Pride Month is an important initiative in helping to raise awareness of the LGTBQ+ community, and facilitate a better understanding of alternative lifestyles, and broader acceptance of the same. And with TikTok now becoming a more significant element of the social media landscape, it too can play an important role in amplifying these messages, and facilitating connection within the app.
4 Twitter Continues Work on its New Spaces Tab
Twitter continues to add new elements to boost the use of its own audio Spaces option, which will soon include a new, dedicated Spaces tab in the middle of the bottom function bar to improve Spaces discovery.
In addition to the development of its new Spaces tab, Twitter has also announced two new updates for Spaces to further refine the functionality of the option.
So while these might not seem like major additions and updates in isolation, they all have significant potential, while the arrival of the Spaces tab in the app – when it does eventually get a launch date – will be a big step for Twitter as it eyes its next stage of development.
5 LinkedIn Shares New Insight into the Most In-Demand Marketing Roles and Skills
LinkedIn has shared some new insights into the evolving marketing employment landscape, and the key skills in demand among brands looking for new marketing and advertising staff.
LinkedIn’s data shows that, despite the pandemic, marketing roles have been increasingly in-demand.
That last point will be of specific interest to digital marketers, as will the fact that one in every two of the top marketing jobs posted on LinkedIn related to the digital or media space.
